Afterglow 2016 - Day 7 Friday

There wasn't much going on tonight, so we all decided to turn in early and call it a year. When I was younger we would have partied all night to ride at Dawn and still would have been able to make it home in the morning. Now that I'm in my mid 30's, I needed to rest up so that I was coherent enough to drive home in the morning. This means that the most exciting part of my night is when I lit up some snakes in the pathway to the cottage and watched them burn. Times certainly have changed. But you know what? That's life.

Jenny brought along a hammock and insisted on sleeping between the trees on our last night out here. I attempted to argue with her, but she had too much evidence to support her claims. I'm not a lawyer, so I won't ask her to produce all of that before the court and the presiding Judge. So I'm better off accepting that each person is allowed to live their lives in the way that they see fit. And in a different universe and at a different time, I might have joined her out there if there was a second hammock that I could I suspend myself in between two trees. But in our Universal Timeline, everything happens all at once. I was inside. She was outside. But we were all in one place - the greatest place of all.
Here are a couple of more pictures of Afterglow Lake Resort in case you haven't been convinced that this is the most beautiful place on Earth. I've been posting pictures of this joint on my site for the past 15 years, so if you haven't figured it out by now, you probably never will. But we each have our own interpretation of what is beautiful, so I'm going to tell you that you are wrong if you don't agree with me. To each their own.

I have a long standing (albeit unproven) theory that the day we leave (which also includes the night before) is the most perfect day at Afterglow. Look at these pictures and tell me that I'm wrong. This theory is still unproven because I need some time to gather all of the evidence necessary to get this approved by the Scientific Board of Theory Approval (The SBOTA). But it will happen some day.
