Afterglow 2016 - Day 6 Thursday

Since I didn't tweet about it (which in my old age is the only way that I remember things these days), these pictures tell me that Uncle Dale & Uncle Dan faced off against Curtis & Pinkman in the next round and emerged triumphantly with the victory. But I do have the ability to time travel into the future and *SPOILER ALERT* know how they finished. So I know for a fact that they did not lose this game.

I'm going to throw out a disclaimer before we get into it - so much time has passed since these events that not everything I am going to say is going to be accurate. It's pretty much going to be what I can discern from looking at these pictures, so if I am spewing lies - deal with it. I'm guessing that Tommy & Stacy faced off against Uncle Dale & Uncle Dan in the Horseshoe Tournament. I'm sure that everyone played to the best of their ability, but the pictures below this insinuate that Uncle Dale & Uncle Dan emerged victorious this time.

There were a few (but loyal) fans in attendance for the horseshoe festivities today, and even the losers and the winners stuck around to watch the other teams compete. That's one of the things that makes this game (and this place) so great. It's the people.

I've been horseshoe partners with my Mom for the last, um, thousand years or so. In reality it's not that long, but I know that we have played together (and won Championships together) many times over the past few years. So we paired up again this year.

We played against Erin Forsyth (formerly Wells) and her Husband Brian and I'm sure that both teams made some good shots along the way. But I do know that my team looked the best while doing it. This is no slight against Erin and Brian. Oh no no no. This is instead a compliment to my grandiose horseshoe form and Mom's steadfast point scoring. I'm like the blind squirrel that finds a nut every now and then and she's the one who plans for the Winter. Combined we were able to win in this round of the tournament.
