Afterglow 2012 - Day 7 Friday |
Stacy is in college and therefore probably uses her brain a lot more than others. Because of that she needs to shut down and let her brain automate for a bit. Rest up College Girl. You're in for a long night of raging with those who truly know how to party. |
The Back Alley Burners are an insane bunch. Just hang out with them for an evening and you will want to claw your brain out. But if you give us time we'll try to tickle your ears with some sweet music at the campfire. Just give us a chance to entertain you. |
We needed more people in this family so Kevin stepped in. He's got at least 2-3 people up there in his head so he's more than capable for filling in for multiple family members. The family picture this year was an interesting one. But so it goes... |
We have to take a family picture every year to see how we've changed from year to year. The biggest change this year is that we were down to 3 people. It was a quiet week in Cabin #2 but maybe a little bit of quiet is a good thing every now and then. |
Since today was a good weather day there was a good chance it would also be a good night. That means a fire and raging on KK. Jenny and Susie gathered to set out their plans for the night, which most likely involved doing whatever the other cousins do. |
Dale and Carol already had their family picture taken before Beege went back home. But they still had time to commit this moment to a digital image. And why not? They're such a lovely couple that they should always celebrate these kind of moments. |
If you would give me a dollar to tell you what Tommy is doing here I would tell you I didn't know but at least I'd be one dollar richer. So make sure to do that. Just another night at Afterglow. |
Brothers are wonderful. Like Kevin I was blessed with 2 great brothers. Gary snuggled up to Kevin while he played a soothing melody, and it was in no way weird. Cause they are brothers. |
Nights at Afterglow are beautiful. Makes you really hate the city and want to spend the rest of your life up North. From the quiet serenity to the clear skies, this place is truly magical. I love being able to light a fire on any given night and gather around it with family and friends. Sure you can do that back home but it's just not the same. The surrounding environment changes everything. That's why I love it so much here. |
Believe it or not, this was only the 2nd night that we played music around the campfire. There were several nights where the weather was just bad enough that we decided not to play. There was never anyone down there and we kind of appreciate having an audience to cover up our mistakes with their chatter and singing along. That wouldn't be a problem tonight because the entire family was here. I have no problem hanging out by myself with a fire, but when the family joins me it becomes so much more enjoyable. |
BK3 was awake for a bit and he used the magical powers of his sweater to conjure up an intense look of rage. Jenny Reck had the thumbs up like always and solidified this picture as a telling tale of the night. Nights at the campfire are always great. |
Mom had a broken bone in her hand so Kevin became the talent. In between staying motionless for tons of pictures (thanks to the Moms) he managed to entertain the crowd. I know that Jenny + Gary said they loved it but it could have been the booze talking. |
