Afterglow 2012 - Day 6 Thursday

It was cloudy and raining for a little bit but for the most part the weather was decent today. After some showers Kevin and Brian went out for a boat ride. Lord knows what happened out at sea but at some point they came back to shore to pick up Jenny. That's when the voyage really went awry. Just think about what it would be like being in a boat with Kevin, Brian and Jenny. I don't know about you but I would probably go overboard and take my chances out at sea. No offense of course. I just couldn't handle that much rage at once.

I wish I had a HT back home. I would go in it every single day. Even the worst HT in the world (which it hurts me to report that this is one of them) is better than no HT at all. I hate to constantly bash this amenity but the grooved seats in modern HTs don't suit any body type from small (Stacy) to medium (Kevin) to big (Me) and everyone just kind of sits there awkwardly. You can't even submerse your entire body below water. Because of that Kevin decided to seek warmth elsewhere by wrapping himself in the bubble cover while laying on the floor. I don't blame him for seeking alternative options. It's cold out there in the world and we all just need to heat things up.

When the weather sucks it gives us the chance to do some of the other things we enjoy about Afterglow. One of which is playing ping pong. Tommy and Stacy play a lot of ping pong in LaCrosse where they both are enrolled in college. Since they are the masters of the game they get challenged to a match. Dale took on Stacy in a battle of skill and reaction time. But I too was facing a challenge and that was trying to take a picture of the match while Kevin behaved like... well himself. Needless to say I failed on all accounts.

After clowning around in the Rec Room we went swimming to satisfy our daily obligation to The Pact. But even if we didn't sign the annual Pact we still would have gone swimming anyway. I don't know how many times I need to say it to stress the point but swimming is the best thing to do up here. That is why bad weather days bum me out so much. We'll do it regardless but it is so much more fun when everyone is out on the beach and the HD. That's why we don't stay out in the lake very long on bad weather days.
