Afterglow 2012 - Day 4 Tuesday

Discussion that takes place inside the HT is reserved for the people who are in there and the people eavesdropping above in Beach Chalet. There is way too much rage there for civil ears.

I went back out in the water with a full beverage and started floating. The current started taking me out to sea and ended up taking some familiar faces out there with me. I don't really know how long we were out there but by the time I started to pay attention we were way out there. I mean waaaaaaaaaaay out there. All of the cousins were safely afloat thanks to varying devices but we didn't have enough energy or the will to return to shore. That is where the kayak brigade of Uncle Rick and Tommy came to our rescue. We formed a giant cousin chain and helped out by kicking our appendages. But Rick and Tommy were doing all of the hard work. It took seemingly forever but we made it close enough to shore to do the rest on our own. The day of the Chain will go down as a Top 10 moment.

Aunt Sandy and Stacy went out in kayaks but they were too late to assist with The Chain. We could have used their help but it's best to allow them to spend their vacation in a leisurely fashion.

When we got back in the shallow end where we could touch the ground everything normalized. Jenny and Susie certainly looked like they more at peace with the World now that they were safe.

There are many different water vessels for public use at Afterglow and one of the newest ones is this thing that looks like a surfboard. But the difference is that you don't ride the waves on this thing, you use a paddle to navigate the waters. Avery gave it a go and she seemed to be quite adept at using this contraption. I would have asked for an instructional presentation but there was no way I would ever get up on one of those. I have no sense of balance or strength in my legs and it gets even worse when I've been drinking.

I'm not even going to pretend to understand what these girls are thinking or feeling at this moment. All I can say is that there is a fair amount of rage. How do I know? Because there's always rage.
