Afterglow 2014 - Day 2 Sunday |
Word on the street (or on the dirt road once you hit Cabin #5) was that Curtis and Susie had arrived recently, so I had to witness this moment with my own eyes. Who is this Curtis? Show him to me. We made the short walk down to Cabin #6 and found out that the word was indeed the truth, the light and the way. Oh dear God. You think we already raged? Nope. The rage was just beginning pal. |
They say that everything is funnier in a boat, but this time I will have to disagree with them. Who are they anyway? They definitely don't what it is like to share a patch of dry land with Kevin and Brandon. If they ever did, they would understand. |
Pinkman took Stacy out for a boat ride and us landlubbers (holy shit! spellchecker knows landlubbers!?! I have a newfound respect for this magical device) had to sit on shore and watch. What about me pal? When's it going to be my time?!? |
We usually end up back at our cabin several times a day. Besides the fact that it is home for the week, it's also a refueling station and houses so much rage that you don't know what to do with it. Kevin was able to harness some of it and channel it through his fingers and into the guitar. There is no way to tell now what song he was playing, but I promise you that I liked it. I like everything that silly bastard does. I can't help it. It's like Jenny and Brandon. They're almost too ridiculous for their own good. But somehow it works. |
James and Melissa had flown into Milwaukee yesterday (Saturday) morning but didn't come up until today (Sunday). They decided to spend their first day back in town going to the Brewers game and catching up with some friends. I guess that's what you do when you live out of town. I wouldn't know... But Mom was really happy when they got here because now the family was all together. Over the next few days we would have a full cabin. For the next few days Afterglow would also be full (and full of our nonsense). A small gathering of these individuals is a fairly sight. Get used to these kinds of pictures over the next few days. You have been warned. |
I don't usually take pictures like this because we're just sitting around doing practically nothing. But these are the real moments at Afterglow. This is what happens in between all of the nonsense that requires a photograph to capture the moment. But this is real life and I'd rather be hanging out with Susie, Jenny, Kevin and Curtis at this moment than anyone else. Dead or alive. Believe that. |
If my partner in crime is Kevin, then Uncle Rick's is Curtis. For some reason us older people tend to pick these younger kids to associate with. Maybe it's because they keep us young. Or maybe it's because they remind us of when we were that age. |
Words can't even begin to describe what is happening here. So why do I even try? Because I have a job to do. That's why. And my boss is really riding me to complete this quarterly report. And Kevin is my partner. Good luck on that passing grade pal. |
