Afterglow 2014 - Day 3 Monday |
Brian and Kevin got the unfortunate draw of Stacy and Tommy in the 1st Round. If you are a repeat visitor to this site, then you would know that they have won this horseshoe tournament in the past and are as close to real athletes that this place sees. Now I can't tell you the outcome of that match (since it's been like 6 months since it happened) but I can tell you that we raged. We always rage. |
These ass jockeys were dressed alike and enjoying each other's company. I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with that at all. On the contrary. I encourage this kind of thing from all parties involved. If you aren't going to rage and enjoy life, then what is the point of living? If you feel like wearing a Sombrero, a Saturday shirt and a dickey, wear them with pride. So well done boys. It started to rain in the evening so we retired to cabin #2 for some more rage that would not be approved by our parental units. |
Sign ups for the bags and horseshoe tournament usually happens during Pot Luck, so it makes sense that the first round starts right after dinner. Like usual I would be playing with my Mom in horseshoes, but we got a 1st round bye and didn't have to play tonight. But Jenny and I (once again as Beebop & Rocksteady) had to play our bags game. And like what happens every time they face the TMNT, we lost. Should have seen it coming. |
I don't know what it is with Brandon and Kevin in this picture (it could be their dashing good looks, their Saturday shirts, the dickeys, the Sombreros or a combination of all of the above) but they look photoshopped. Like someone took a picture of Brian, Stacy and Tommy and was like, you know what? This picture isn't weird enough so let me add two guys wearing Sombreros, Saturday shirts and dickeys. But I was there. I witnessed this in person. There was no photoshop. These kids are just that weird that they look out of place in reality. But I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm lucky to be born into a World where a rage of this magnitude is a possibility. |
Just like their horseshoe game, I have no way of telling at this time if Brian and Kevin won their bags game. I'm guessing that they didn't, because I don't recall any of the family teams progressing further in the tournament. Oh well. These tournaments are all in good fun anyway. Besides, if you lose this year, there's always next year. That's the beauty of Afterglow. There is always next year. |
As I previously mentioned, Jenny and I called our team Beebop & Rocksteady after the mutated warthog and rhinoceros evil villains that oppose the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It's a fantastic team name, but not very practical because they always get beaten. And easily at that. But we (and they) never learn. |
I'll give Stacy credit for a lot of things. For starters she is a very intelligent and sensible person who has her life together. She's years ahead of where I was at that age. Plus she's able to put up with us (when we are drunken assholes) and doesn't join in the nonsense. She is a saint for not succumbing to our evils. |
