All of the kids headed out to Kartway in Eagle River, as we traditionally do every year. I got the distinct honor of driving with Beege, Stacy, and Signa. As soon a we left Afterglow, Signa passed out.

The kids (Beege, Kev-o, Susie, and Gary) waited anxiously in line for their turn to burn some pint-sized rubber. The track looked easy from the fence post, but any minute now they would find that statement to be untrue.

Tim sat behind the wheel of the only vehicle he was legally licensed to drive. (Note to reader: at the time the picture was taken, Tim had yet to obtain his license. Today he is now a member of the Wisconsin stature of motor vehicle operators.)

The look of pure satisfaction was quite evident, as was the smell of carbon monoxide. These children contributed to perhaps the most heinous crime of our generation - pollution. Somewhere far off, Mother Earth gently weeps in sorrow...

I was so strapped in to that little kart, you would have thought that I was a giant. I didn't really mind though, because in the event of a crash, there was no way that I was going anywhere. That and the cinnamon bun I just ate gave me a warm feeling in my stomach.

Twilight always seems to play a little trick on the eyes. Apparently, it also likes to play tricks on my camera. A flash wouldn't capture correctly, but no flash means a blur. Technology huffs and puffs and blows my house down. Gary agrees with two thumbs up.
