Afterglow 2003 - Day 5 (page 16)
One more day of fun had passed, and we were sad, but then we realized that another day of fun was just beginning! The sun was shining, and it looked like today would be a perfect day to spend in the water.
We all decided to float on the lake in various water vehicles. Tim, Gary, and I chose to Kayak, while James and Matt opted for sail boats. That kayak was a tough fit, so there was only one way for me to get out of it. (click the text to view kayak bailing.)
While the kids were at play, the adults rested. Dale (left) and Sam (right) enjoyed a peaceful day on the dock. With their shirts off and their feet dangling in the water, they realized that this was what vacation was all about.
James and Matt, out sail boating. James was an expert, having perfected his techniques through years of training. Matt on the other hand, had no idea what he was doing, and ended up drifting far out to sea. Thankfully, Afterglow is a small lake, or else we would have lost him.
Kevin promised that he would flip off of the high dive if I would take his picture. Since I would endure no bodily harm by pressing buttons, I happily obliged and took a series of pictures that aptly displays this kid's talent. Kevin mentioned he had poor form while flipping, but the judges of pookon.com don't think so, and awarded him a 9.0 for his dazzling display of mid-air acrobatics.
There are only two things that matter to me when it comes to jumping off the high dive. 1 - did you make a big splash? And 2 - are you ok? If you can answer yes to both of these questions, then you passed the test, and you can now be a part of my award-winning Marco Polo team.
