Afterglow 2003 - Day 4 (page 15)
James approaches horseshoes much as he does every sport, stretch to loosen the muscles, approach the shot with knowledge, then follow through in accordance with the proper rules, then be a good sport. Jenny refused to shoot while I took her picture, fearing that the flash from the camera would make her miss. So she just stood there so I could take a picture.
But I snuck up on her mid-throw and obtained a picture of Jenny in action. And I must say, if everything else doesn't work out, she could join the professional Horseshoe league. She has such an eloquent form that it makes all the other players shudder, and with practice she could be famous someday...
My Nana and Papa made it up for a few days, and stopped by Afterglow to watch us play some horseshoes. My Nana loves to watch her grandchildren at play, and nothing makes her happier than to see all of her family together enjoying each other's company. After horseshoes, we all got together for one fabulous Nana meal, which besides seeing all my family together, was the best thing that happened to me all day.
Uncle Dan sat and watched his family beat my family at horseshoes, and out of respect, held back his glee. Here comes Uncle Dan, here comes Uncle Dan, right down Sugar Maple Lane! I don't really know the rest of the song, but it has something to do with bringing toys for all the good little girls and boys.
