Afterglow 2004 - Day 5
On Day 5, Tim made us go into town to check out some thrift shops. You'd think that when he went on vacation, he could leave the goodwill behind, but that didn't happen. It was alright though. We went to about 4 shops, but none of them had any good stuff. I think we might have stopped somewhere else in town, but I don't remember.
Brian and Tommy (left) entered the sand castle contest, with the hope of creating a stellar castle like last year. While they did copy us by throwing everything at the beach together in a random fashion, their castle had neither a purpose or a good story behind it. At least ours had Neil Diamond. Tommy claimed that the green ring had something to do with the assortment of junk that they called a sand castle. Dale (below) was unimpressed with their work.
Thursday has always been the day of the blind canoe race. This year, it was difficult to get people involved in the activity. Finally, 4 teams took shape. One such team featured my brothers Tim and James, as well as "cousin" Chris. Another involved Tommy, Kevin, and of course Brian, who acted like a monkey for this picture. If you know any of these guys, it isn't hard to tell which team came in last place. Trust me, I'm not ruining the race for you.
