Jenny and James were once again horseshoe partners, (we all kept the same partners from last year) deciding to to keep the J Reck team going strong one more year. In order for them to reach greatness, they would have to walk through the doorway of the McKissick home. Easier said then done. Nothing against Jenny, but Carol had her played like a fiddle, so it was up to James to win the match for his team.

James did bring his A game, something that Dale was able to do as well. Since the two of them performed evenly, it was up to the women to win the game. Carol is an amazing horseshoe player. I don't know where she gets it. Maybe she is a 3rd generation horseshoe thrower, playing since she was a little girl. Maybe God himself came down and grabbed the horseshoe and placed it upon the pole. Maybe gravity finally placed an integral role in something that actually meant something, like horseshoes. The crowd was hushed in silence awaiting the end.

A small crowd of mostly family gathered to watch this epic battle. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on whether you are a Reck or a McKissick) Dale and Carol won. Even though you always keep hope alive, think that everyone there knew that they would win. Win or loose, it didn't really matter because everyone had fun. Despite his frown that needs to be turned upside down, even Dale had a good time.
