Afterglow 2004 - Day 3
While it's not really "sailing with the Captain," the intent of drinking and operating watercraft was still present. It was more like "kayaking with the Leinenkugel's."
Chris had the same idea, but his drink was packed safely within the soft-side cooler. The real question was exactly who he was sailing with.
Jenny decided to go out there and show those guys that she knows how to handle a wicked kayak. There's not too much that Jenny cannot do, she's just that good. She was there to shake up James and Chris' afternoons.
Kevin then joined James, Chris and Jenny out in the water and they all kayaked together as one big happy family. This moment made Mom run out with her camera yelling "picture time" or "group shot" or one of those capture the memories things that Moms say.
Uncle Dan was using his free time to do word searches. Dale accused him of acting old because only Grandma's do word searches. Uncle Dan retaliated by saying Dale wasn't capable of handling the grueling task of finding all 26 words in the jumble of letters. It was great.
Dinner was served! Well, not yet at least. We were planning on eating burgers, and even attempted to get our grill lit. We were having trouble, so Uncle Dan offered his grill for our cooking purposes. Turns out that the was the best idea of the day, because his grill was hotter than the fires of hell, in preparation for grilling steaks or something for his family. Those burgers were amazing, but we didn't mention that during dinner because we were so busy enjoying them that no words needed to be said.
