Afterglow 2004 - Day 3

Every year, we get the urge to blow things up. What did you expect me to say, plant flowers? We're guys. It's just one of those things that we are inclined to do, like wanting to be a race car driver or operate heavy machinery. The place to go to buy things that blow up in Eagle River is Harry's Market, conveniently located 1 mile West of the McDonald's (as stated on their website. Aren't small towns quaint?) Chris, Tim, Gary and I perused Harry's finest assortment of fireworks, deciding on which ones would most adequately fill the night sky with a grand array of colors.

Chris settled on a pre-packaged assortment of fireworks; costly, yet overall more bang for your buck. Get it? Bang? I crack myself up sometimes.

Tim and I decided to buy a few, for we still had some leftovers from last year. We had to buy some new ones, because there are some fireworks (such as roman candles) that you just can never have enough of.

We got back just in time for the obstacle course. What used to be a fan favorite has now degenerate into an all out event for the little kiddies. It's fine with me, because vacation is more about relaxing now than having fun.

Tim insisted that I take a picture of him eating raisins while wearing this shirt. He's quite proud of it, even though he is years away from the legal drinking age. That shirt makes me want to start drinking Seagram's 7 with 7up.

My Nana and Papa (Marilyn and Chester) come up every year for a few days and stay in nearby Eagle River, coming over to Afterglow to see the kids (us) goof around and take part in these events. I felt bad that none of the older cousins participated, but it was still nice that we were there to support Stacy and Stefani, both of which did the obstacle course. Nana was happy just to see all of us having a great time on vacation.
