Afterglow 2006 - Day 8

We allowed Janelle and Faith to enter the picture because they are now members of our family and will be with us at Afterglow for many many years to come. We all had a wonderful week, and although the cabin was a little more crowded than usual, we survived.

Janelle and Faith absolutely loved their first time at Afterglow, which is what I'd expect from someone who experienced this paradise for the first time. I wish that all of you could witness this joy first hand, but since there is a limited amount a availability, you can't. Hopefully my pictures and stories do Afterglow the justice it deserves.

We are always hesitant to gather on the dock, seeing as how we almost broke the one on the beach a couple of years ago. We walked out with caution, then smiled as the picture was taken. As soon as the shutter snapped, we all ran back to the safety of dry land. None of us wanted to know the water temperature on Day 8 of Afterglow.

Home

Mom needed a picture that she could set on top of the piano and show off to guest when they came over. Because of that, she needed us to all look presentable, which was extremely difficult after an entire week of heavy drinking and swimming.

I made a promise to Kevin that I would have Afterglow 2006 done by November 2006. Obviously, that didn't happen. I made a personal promise to myself that I would have it finished before 2007 rolled around. Once again, that too didn't happen. And so now it is early May 2007, and I am finally finishing it. Kevin - I'm sorry that I didn't hold true to my promise, but hey, at least I finished it. That's more than I can say for a lot of the other pictures that I take that never end up on this site. So that is Afterglow 2006. My promise for Afterglow 2007 is that I will have it finished before we head up North in July 2008 for another year at Afterglow. I can't believe I'm planning that far into the future. At least that promise is obtainable; I don't understand why I keep making ones that I know I will not be able to keep...
