Afterglow 2006 - Day 7 |
The sky was darkening and we could tell that what started out as a beautiful Day 7 could and probably would turn into a horrendous Night 7. The kids finished their swimming for the day, making good on their promise to swim every day at Afterglow or else owe $5 and get an extreme wedgie from everyone who signed the pact. Luckily for Brian, pictured on the right, he just emerged from the water and doesn't have to suffer the consequences for failing on the promises that he made at the beginning of the week. |
Tim and I are and continue to be goofy as all hell. I blame my parents and society for teaching me that it is ok to be different and completely off the wall. This picture just makes me laugh. I don't understand why exactly, but I crack a smile when I see this. |
Kevin, Brian, Tim, Beege and I stood out on the dock and watched the coming storm approach us. We stood steadfast in its path and didn't flinch until one of us nearly got struck by lightning. That's a big lie, but we would run like nancies if that actually happened. |
When Kevin emerged from the water I got a sinking suspicion that I had seen this image somewhere before. It wasn't until about 20 minutes before writing this that I realized that Kevin resembled the famous Big Foot sighting picture. It's eerie how similar these two pictures really are, which makes me wonder if Dale and Carol are really his parents and that they didn't just adopt Mr. and Mrs. Bigfoot's son and shave him. Whatever the case may be, I will continue to love him whether he is a McKissick or a Bigfoot. |
The sky was wicked dark and rain was imminent, so we got a couple of pictures in before the rain would force us to seek shelter. Mother and son both enjoy and value their time together, so it makes a whole lot of sense that they would be smiling while in each other's company. |
The smiles disappear from our faces when the serious 6 year old Faith joins us in the picture. Although she is supposed to be theoretically more mature than Tim and I, in actuality it is the other way around. When she arrived in this picture, all of the silliness vanished. |
