Afterglow 2006 - Day 7 |
The weather was very mild today, and it seemed like it would be another perfect Day 7 here at Afterglow. There was a slight breeze, and Jenny and Timmy figured that it was high time they took the sailboat out for a little cruise around the lake. The wind was a little bit more brutal that it seemed, and as you already saw on the last page, the wind wasn't very kind to them during their voyage. |
Just like I challenged Kevin to try and fit under the bridge on the mini golf course, I told Tommy to wear this tiny life jacket. I like tricking big people to fit into or under tiny things. Kevin wouldn't go through with it, but Tommy was happy to struggle with this task. |
The Afterglow Poltergeist shown through the widow and beckoned us to enter into its realm. Since Tangina Barrons was not around to tell us "don't go into the light!", I believe all of us approached the window with careless abandon. Luckily, Coach Hayden Fox, Luther and Dauber came to our rescue and saved us from that poltergeist. |
They struggled to turn the sailboat right side up but is was evident to everyone except them that they were fighting a losing battle. Their inexperience with water crafts showed as these city slickers tread water and almost loose the sailboat to the bottom of the lake. Everyone on the beach sat and watched this episode unfold, but no one did anything about it until Gail swam out to help them reel the boat back to shore. |
Gail lost her raft while she was assisting the fabulous Reck siblings and Jenny went out to rescue it. In a fantastic turnaround of events, the one being saved becomes the savoir and Jenny is labeled a hero by the worldwide association of recreational floatation devices. |
I don't know what we did before these pictures were taken, but from the looks of it, it must have been extremely strenuous and exhausting. Tommy (left) and Brian (right) are passed out in the middle of the afternoon; my guess is that this vacation has just taken so much out of them that they can longer remain conscious. Kids these days just can't handle the various stresses brought upon by vacation. |
