Afterglow 2006 - Day 3 |
Susie and Tim have yet to win a game of horseshoes since the partnership began, but they have run up against some tough teams. Since they are also inexperienced, they are always underdogs. |
We play with as little as 4 and as many as 10 on the court on each side, so it can get confusing at times as to who is going to hit the ball. Sometimes we all go for it, and sometimes we all just stand back and watch the ball bounce several times in one spot. People often poke fun at me because I loudly proclaim "I go" when I call the ball. I don't see the humor in it, because when I hit the ball, that's when the magic happens. Everyone else merely calls "I got it" then taps it over the net. What's so spectacular about I got it? |
There's something wrong with these kids (Kevin and Brian.) Over the years, many people have offered suggestions as to why they act this way, but so far no one has come close a solution. But since I believe that there is no problem with them, no solution is needed. Afterglow volleyball is important to Tim because it allows him to explore his athletic talents. Although his #1 gift is music, let's not forget that he did grow up with James, so sports, although secondary to music, were always an option to the Reck children. |
The "family" crowd gathers for every event that their "family" is a part of. You should know by now that we consider all of these people pictured (and more) to be family during the 7 days up here, so I shouldn't have to put the quotation marks to distinguish from my real family and my Afterglow family. During this short week, there is no distinction between actual family and pretend family. |
Tim looks like he is rocking instead of playing horseshoes, but it is ok because in his spare time, he is a rock star. You can't fault a guy if he accidentally confuses his lifestyle with his leisure activities. |
