Afterglow 2013 - Day 4 Tuesday

Stretching before physical activity is very important. Stretching before an all day Ragefest is essential. Every day at Afterglow is filled with rage. I'm just surprised that we've never done something like this before. Mornings are always rough and they usually require a jump start. How did it take until 2013 to implement this program?

We pick up a ton of groceries on Saturday when we get up here but after a few days we realize there are some more things that we need. Mostly booze. Susie, Curtis, Jenny and I rolled into town in an effort to refill our mugs and to pick up some random groceries for our parents. My family is the absolute best. What should have been a very mundane task turned into a fun little adventure. Curtis and I shared some laughs, Susie gave us disapproving looks and Jenny had to figure out what item she wanted in the quarter vending machine.

On Sunday morning it was just Jenny and I at KK Morning Stretch. On Monday Kevin joined us. This morning Jenny was leading a large group that included Kevin, Clare, Bella, June, Carol, Stacy, My Mom Kris and myself. This fun morning activity really picked up some steam and everyone was eager to start the day off right. Jenny was trying to teach us various stretches that worked to warm up the body's core, but must of us were too busy hamming it up for the camera to follow along. That happens when you try to lead goofballs.

Mom was really into this activity both as a participant and casual observer. When it came time to join in the group stretch, I took over behind the lens because that's where I look the best. I know everyone appreciated the move. They loved it so much that they took stretching to a new level and made this morning one of the greatest in KK history. This was one for the record books folks.

It was good to see the kids come out and join us for a little morning stretch. We tend to think that kids are infallible, but they are mere mortals just like you and I. Even though they are young and used to physical activity, everyone can use a stretch.

It was good to see Carol come and join us. Her and I don't have the greatest history but it's gotten better once she realized I wasn't corrupting her baby boy. Now we can be around each other and she doesn't judge me. Who am I kidding? She does.

Stretching is very necessary after an intense night of raging, but let's not kid ourselves here folks - it's really not that fun. We bring some music up here to make it a little more entertaining but then something happened that we didn't expect - a dance party broke out. I have to admit that I'm upset with myself that I didn't see this coming despite knowing that Jenny Reck was the instructor. She loves to dance.

Stretching works out all the kinks from yesterday and also any of the pains incurred from sleeping in these wooden beds. I don't mean to knock the quality of this resort or anything, but I guess there really is no place like home. But after warming up the next logical step was to dance. And after dancing the next logical step was to go to town. Literally.
