Afterglow 2011 - Day 1 Saturday |
The best thing about doing anything drunk is that you come up with stupid drunken rules and then don't really care when they are not followed. One such rule we enforced was that your drink needed to be set on the table on that the drink was in play. This didn't stop either of us from constantly moving our drinks and cheating. What did we care though? We were drunk and topless. What more could you want in life? |
Besides having the entire outdoors as our playground there is plenty of other things to do at Afterglow, which come in handy on a rainy day. Eddie and Stacy played a game of billiards. I don't know if it was high stakes like $5 a ball, but I doubt it. We play family games here. |
Scott + Mitchell are into extreme sports so they have all sorts of toys and shit lying around. Stacy found this goofy skateboard in the rec room and it works like a perpetual motion device. You can move your body and keep going without ever having to peddle with your legs. |
You can tell from the overall color that the sun was hiding behind a cloudy sky. Even though it was late July that takes a lot of fun out of swimming because it still feels rather cold. It is Northern Wisconsin after all. That's why Brian, Stacy and myself were the only people swimming this late in the day. Not to say that anyone else wasn't stupid or brave enough to do so, but that's just the way it happened that afternoon. |
As the Fun Police Brian and Stacy need to set the bar for what is fun and encourage all others to join in. And if they don't join in then you get to ticket them and lock them up for not having fun. What a job. |
Speaking of fun you could tell I was having it by the look on my face. Or that could just be the look I always give. It could be a look of shock, horror or excitement. You never know with me. I'm ambiguous. |
We don't roll into Afterglow until at least 2 or 3 pm so the 1st day always goes pretty quick and before you know it is dark outside. Darkness at Afterglow usually means 1 thing - playing songs at the campfire. Kevin and I had been practicing for the last few months to try and fill Timmy's shoes. We know this couldn't be done because no one I know was like him, but all of us working together was better than silence. Since we never played with Mom before we decided to jam in cabin #2. I have no idea what we played but I'm pretty sure we rocked the roof off of the joint. |
