Afterglow 2011 - Day 4 Tuesday |
Things work out best when you pair two similar people who also have good chemistry. That's why Stacy and Stefani paired up and why James was tossing to Melissa. Each balloon caught takes a few seconds off of your Obstacle Course time. Best to catch them all. |
The second event in the Obstacle Course is the balloon toss which is held down by the fire pit. Gail had some music playing and Jenny and Brian started to dance. They both love to dance and it is evident when they get down and shake their booties at concerts and weddings. |
Kevin and Brian finally decided to lay off for a minute so that we could get a proper photo, and I thank them for that. But having said that I did appreciate their services and now I'm forced to decide which picture I liked best - this one or those ones? Hard to choose. |
Better catch them all. Like Pokemon, right? Unfortunately that wasn't the case for us. I know that as a team we caught at least one but I'm not sure if there were any successful attempts outside of that one. Photographic evidence proves that Stefani did not and the look on Stacy's face suggests that she is about to drop her balloon. Oh well. At least they gave it their best. Now it was time for the rest of the team to step up. |
For some reason we wanted to take a picture with just the "S" cousins (Susie, Stefani, Stacy and myself) but Kevin and Brian tried to get into the picture despite their first names not starting with S. I know that they are jealous because S is the greatest letter ever but lay off guys. This is our time to shine. You have had plenty of opportunities in the past and you don't need to photobomb ours. Although it was pretty damn funny. |
One of the other teams were tossing balloons so Team Revolution decided to get down and boogie. We were owning all aspects of these events including non official competitions like the dance-off. These little kids didn't even stand a chance. It just wasn't fair but I liked it. |
The object of the water balloon toss is to throw the balloon into your teammates' open hands and have them catch it without the balloon exploding. Sounds easy, right? We've been doing this for years and still we don't have the throwing arms or soft hands to pull it off. |
This bench picture of all of the cousins is very reminiscent of the couch picture that we have taken every holiday for our entire lives. Here is an example of one from Thanksgiving a few years ago. It gives us a good idea of how much we have grown over the years. |
I know I overuse this term but the only way I know how to describe Brian is majestic. Just look at the way that he throws that balloon with his arms outstretched follow-through. It may not be the textbook way to deliver a balloon into the waiting hands of another person but I dare you to find another person who looks this good while doing it. I don't know the results of this toss but at this point does it even really matter? |
