Afterglow 2011 - Day 3 Monday

It was good to spend some time up here with my old man even if it was just half of a day. He kind of lost Afterglow in the divorce so he doesn't get to come up here with us anymore. Tough luck pal. But at least he was welcome to be here today for this somber event.

When Jenny was down eating her pinecones and wheatgrass she decided to do a little mingling but it wasn't with the help because Kevin has never helped anyone. We that's not entirely true. He has helped me reach a new level insanity thanks to his annoyance.

I don't know if I mentioned this but my Pops drove up here for the burial today and we invited him to stick around for the pot luck dinner seeing as he had driven 5 hours to get here. After that he might as well grab some free eats. That's the least he should get.

Even though we were too old to be decided upon by the court of law he lost custody of us in the divorce too. We spend nearly all holidays and vacations with Mom which leaves the kids little to no time with Dad. With all of our busy schedules, James living in a different state and Dad traveling all over the World we barely find time time to all be in the same place at the same time. That's why its important to document every time this rarity ever occurs. Add Afterglow 2011 into a scrapbook that sadly only has a few pages. But that's the way it is my friends.

Uncle Gary came up for a few days from California and brought his friend Dennis along for the ride. Between the Aunts, Uncles and Cousins we already have a big contingent up here but today we were more then well represented with my Dad, Gary, Dennis, Rez and Kelly we were starting to take over the resort in ways we could have never imagined. They might have to start asking us to leave because I'm pretty sure that we didn't pay the required $25 extra person fee that the Red Book mandates. We are the majority and we decide the fees. Not you Redbook!

All of the cabins are gathered down at the campfire area for the pot luck dinner which gives you the chance to catch up with each other but we don't even bother. It's not that we're rude or anything we would just rather spend time with our own families cause they rock so much.

You can't spend time with Kevin without also spending time with Brian. That's how their LP relationship works - equality. Sometimes you can do it all at once and sometimes it's individually. Whatever way it happens in the end everything works out and all is good.

After a big meal nothing feels better than resting or a nap. Then a few hours later nothing feels better than... well let's just say everybody poops. We were all chilling on the bench waiting for the next round of activities to begin. But after that glorious meal we didn't mind waiting.
