Afterglow 2005 - Day 3
Mark was Afterglow's Ozzie Smith; a force to be reckoned with at the plate and at shortstop. Smith played for the Cardinals from 1982-1996 and will be forever remembered for his 13 gold gloves and his back flips. Unfortunately, Mark doesn't do flips to rally the crowd.
Whenever one of the big boys steps to the [late, all of the kids retreat to the edge of the forrest to catch the ball. Anything that goes into the woods is kind of an automatic homerun because it takes longer to find it than it takes to run the bases.
My cousins Tommy (right) and Brian (left) are given every opportunity to perform at the Afterglow League Level. Seeing as how people like me are allowed to play, it's not a hard level to achieve. But all that really counts is that they are here day in and day out, striving to become the best, and to be remembered as one of Afterglow's greatest.
Some of us former studs are allowed to sit back and watch, but that doesn't account for why I'm able to sit there and look pretty for the camera. As previously stated in prior years, Dale is a superstar and an icon for the kids to look up to. The little ones are lucky to have such a fantastic figure to idolize and hold in high regards.
Nobody plays 2nd base like Jenny Reck, NOBODY! She showed off her baseball knowledge by standing on the base for the entirety of the inning. She obviously didn't retain any of the skills she learned from her old softball days.
Jenny Reck is one of the few girls who can go toe to toe with the guys. She has no problem embarrassing everyone by outperforming the males. I'll take some of the credit for that, seeing as she had 3 brothers to learn from while growing up.
