Afterglow 2005 - Day 1
When we first get there, we have to unpack the car and put away the groceries before we socialize. Kevin is always waiting for us across the street in cabin #1, so we always make it a point to go there first.
The Uncles (Dan, Rick and Greg) meet up and shake hands, all with a drink in hand. After all, it is their vacation too. Besides, they're the ones fronting the cash for this shindig, so who are we to tell them what they can or can not do?
Greg gets the party started with his signature mug. Most of the adults will be seen carrying a beverage holder such as this one, the contents of which are not available to you if you are under the age of 21.
Greg likes to give out life lessons and points us in the right direction at every available moment. You never know when a Greg session is about to take place, so you always have to be on your toes.
Matt (in the teal shirt) has to be saying something exceptional and illustrious because the entire focus of the crowd is upon him. It's that or everyone in the crowd has a chronic incurable staring problem.
Kevin challenged me in a rematch of last year's behind the back game of pool, which I won rather convincingly. Maybe it was just me, but Kevin's skill level has increased two-fold. He really impressed me.
I don't remember who won the game, but if I had to choose I'd say Kevin. I figure that I would lose over something stupid like hitting in the eight ball early or in the wrong hole or something like that.
It was about time to go swimming. Regardless of the weather, Tim and I make it a point to go swimming every single day when we are up there. These faithful few (Tommy, Brian, Kevin) usually join us.
