World Series of Beer Pong 7 - After |
When I got back to my Mom's house, I mean my Roommate's house, Coach Gordon Bombay was waiting for me. I know the little guy missed me while I was gone even though Grandma Kris took great care of him in my absence. He always hated when I went out of town and that's because I went on many adventures without him. He was probably upset because I never took him along for the ride. When I explained to him that he was a house cat and not a PeeWee Hockey Coach he didn't listen. It was his stubbornness that led him to coaching District 5 in the first place. But of course that was Emilo Estevez and not a little grey cat. Sometimes I get those two confused. But I love the cat version more. How could I not? |
Jenny came to pick me up at the airport because she didn't have anything better to do that night. Well she might have, but she owes me big time after all the things I've done for her. So she made sure she wasn't doublebooked and she brought me back to the Mothership. |
I don't know what time my flight was to go back home, but I'm guessing that it was right around 11:30am. We checked out of the hotel and took the shuttle to the airport. As you can see in these pictures Las Vegas got the best of me but I figured that the worst was over. While this was true in some sense (I was "deathly" ill out here) the sickness stuck with me for over a month after I got back home. Was it worth it? Probably not... |
Kevin came with me to the airport even though his flight wasn't for a few more hours. He must have figured that it would give him more time to annoy me. Kevin gets great pleasure by making lose my temper so he constantly touches me and cackles. Silly bastard. |
This was most likely my last World Series of Beer Pong. I know that I promised to make it to Year 10 but life often happens and changes your priorities. My friend and former roommate TJ is getting married in Las Vegas in March 2013 (the WSoBP VIII is in January 2013) and I can't afford to do both. Besides, I really don't care much about beer pong these days. My company shuts down between Christmas and New Years, so I have decided to use that time to visit James and Melissa in South Carolina because they won't be able to come home for Christmas. So this is the end of an era. There aren't many people left who have been to all of the World Series of Beer Pong Tournaments and come January 2013 you can cross the Iceman off the list. You have followed along on this adventure for the last 7 years so you know how much fun I had out there. There is no doubt that I will miss it but it was a damn good ride that saw me have an article on Playboy.com, featured in a documentary called Last Cup and allowed me to meet many tremendous people along the way. And of course there were many good times, some that I was too drunk to remember and some that I will never forget. The World Series of Beer Pong in Las Vegas. There's no event in the World quite like it. |
