World Series of Beer Pong 5 - Day 1 |
Jamie and Nick are what I would call a superteam. Jamie, as previously pointed out, is The 1-on-1 Champ and Nick was part of Team France who won WSoBP 1. They are among the best players in the game. So it was surprising that they struggled early on. |
Our 2nd game went into overtime (we hit the kill shot then they hit it as well to send it to a 3 cup game) but we prevailed in the end for our first win. We were now 1-1, and upon leaving the playing area I stopped to take a picture of my pal Lester in game action pose. |
Like I said before, it was unfortunate that Brodey and Casey had to play against our friends Matt and Doug. But the nice thing was that it would be a friendly game. No one wants to lose at beer pong, but if you have to lose, I'd rather lose to a friend so that they can get the win and hopefully make it far into the tournament. Plus the game is exciting to watch because you kind of root for both sides to do well. |
All that I ask for is a close and well played game when I like both teams on the table. Obviously I would rather have Brodey and Casey win because they have been my friends longer and they're from my same background (CHBPL / Wisconsin). In the end Brodey and Casey did end up winning the game and there were no hard feelings from Matt and Doug. Which is exactly how it should be. Losing sucks, but you have to leave it all on the table. The best thing to do to rebound from a loss is to go out and win the next game. And I hope Matt and Doug do that. |
Brodey points to a picture from WSoBP 1 and calls out 3 players who have failed to attend year 5. Those people should remain nameless, but by looking at their goofy faces in the close-up you already can tell that I'm talking about Salmon, Aaron and Balkman. They had all expressed interest in returning for year 5 at some point, but in the end only 4 of us from Milwaukee made it to this milestone in the competition. |
