World Series of Beer Pong 5 - After

One of the best decisions that I made in 2010 (it's now September 1st as I am writing this, so I have plenty of 2010 in the books to support that claim) was taking today off of work. The World Series of Beer Pong is exhausting and I almost need a vacation to recuperate when I get home. To those of you who have never been to the WSoBP you really don't know how taxing that event is. To begin you have the stress of competition. Then you have the all day drinking. And lastly you're in Las Vegas and Sin City which brings with it all of the usual distractions and enticements. A 4-day bender really takes a toll on your system and you can tell that I was all partied out by looking at the picture to the left. But now that I have had time to reflect on it I'm glad that I went and I am seriously considering going out there for Year VI. I've been doing this thing for 5 years now so it would feel really weird to not go to Vegas in January. I have a little bit of time to make my decision, so we'll see... Take care.

I don't remember what time our flight was, but when we got back to Milwaukee it was late. Definitely after 10pm, if not damn near midnight thanks to the time change. Lorge came to pick us up at the airport and Casey (who had left his car at Lorge's house) gave me a ride back home. And just like that WSoBP 5 was over.

Kanz had an earlier flight than I did. In fact, I was on the same flight back to Milwaukee as Brodey + Casey. We went back to the hotel to grab our stuff then took a shuttle bus over to the airport. We had some time to kill before our flight so we did what everyone waiting at the airport does (or should do) - drink. Why stop now? We had been hardcore boozing it for 4 days straight now, and even though it was a Tuesday night, we kept on drinking. I don't know about Brodey or Casey, but I took tomorrow off from work to recover. And from all the shit that I have been through at the WSoBP V, I was going to need it. Especially if I was going to make the transition back to real life again.

Coach Gordon Bombay missed me, although he picked a real odd way to show it by sleeping all day when I was home on a Wednesday. I'm sure that deep down he cared but he's a dude so he keeps his emotions hidden. But I know that tiny beast loves me, and I do love him. We're BFFs. And we don't like to be apart for long.
