World Series of Beer Pong 4 - Day 2

I do remember what was happening right before this picture. Kanz and I had started out real slow on Day 2, and desperately needed a win if we would have any hope of making Day 3. We played a game in which neither team shot well, and the game went into overtime. Both sides struggled, and we ended up being moved to a different table so the next round could start. That was embarrassing. But we finally won the game, and we both ripped off our shirts in joy.

Davis, Triechel and Casey watch from the sidelines as Balkman and Brodey attempt to pick up where they left off yesterday. If anyone is to succeed in this competition, they would need great skill and confidence. While Brodey and Balkman could take care of the skill part of that equation, the confidence usually stems from the support of friends cheering you on from the side. It's one thing to believe in yourself, but when other people also believe in you, it makes it so much easier for you to just play beer pong without thinking about all that other crap.

I stopped by Denise + Amanda's table to see how they were doing, and it too wasn't good. It looks like the game had come down to the rebuttal shot, and they needed to hit 4 to send it into overtime. It didn't look good, but I had faith that these girls could do it.

I stopped by Matt's table to see how he was doing, and it wasn't good. Matt is one of those players that goes out there to have fun,  and really doesn't have much of a chance to win. I don't mean any offense by that, but some people practice and play more than others.

From the looks of this picture, it doesn't seem like I am having a good time at this moment. If I would have captioned this picture a few days after I returned, I might have remembered what was happening at this moment. Curse me for waiting 5 months to caption these pictures. Yeah, because 5 months ago I would've come up with something clever and insightful to write about a picture in which I am staring madly into the camera.

Some sort of dispute arose during the game, so Denise and Amanda turned to the WSoBP staff for the official call. When the guy didn't know what call to make, Lorge jumped in and became the referee of the game. After 4 years out here, countless satellite tournaments and other CHBPL events where we use WSoBP rules, we've become experts. So Lorge was the perfect person to make the call. If Lorge did have any doubt in making the right call (which he wouldn't), the rest of us would be more than qualified to step in and make the judgment.
