World Series of Beer Pong 3 - Beer Pong Day 3

Although I had never won anything in beer pong (a local or national tournament, a CHBPL championship, or any kind of award) in their eyes I was a champion. I've got a lot of people out there who believe in me and look up to me, but Dan and Josh were always really pushing for me to succeed in beer pong. I've tried so hard not to let them down, but there comes a time where I really can't live up to someone's lofty expectations. I'm pretty good at beer pong, but let's face it - I'm really not as good as people talk me up to be. But I guess it's nice that people care. I certainly won't turn people away from joining my fan club. My fan club could use more members than my Mom and my sister.

Part of the fun of playing at the WSoBP is talking with people from across the country and finding out how their rules and how they play. We introduced Dave and Mike to the Man Cup, and they loved the idea. It's one of the greatest psych-outs ever because people want to hit it so bad that they change their game and shoot at that cup only.

Mike and his brother Dave are some of the biggest goofballs that I have ever met in my entire life. I met them both at the first WSoBP, and I instantly hated them because they were very brash and in your face with psych-outs, which I took very personally. It wasn't until I started talking to them outside the game that I started to love these guys. They pull out all of the stops and do whatever it takes to get into their opponents heads, which can sometimes make them look like a bunch of assholes. But they really just do it to give themselves an advantage and to create an exciting atmosphere for the fans. They saw Brodey and I playing over in the remote section of the hall and challenged us to a game, which we made interesting by putting a wet floor sign on top of the table. It certainly made the game a little more interesting.

All of the beer pong action had been moved over to one of the quads, so naturally all of the crowds gravitated towards that area to watch the playoff games. Brodey and I really didn't feel like watching people play because the fact that we didn't make it it to the playoffs still stung and left a bitter taste in our mouths. So we just wanted to play, even if we didn't have a shot at the $50,000 grand prize. I had asked Dan and Josh a while back to play against us, and they picked this moment to take me up on that offer.

Brodey and I won the game against Josh and Dan, and showed that we should have beer pong dominance. I don't know why we don't dominate, but it just seems like we are just too inconsistent to be good. But somehow Brodey and I were pretty good on day 3. It's too bad that we saved all of our good shots for when it didn't matter.
