Rage for Timmy III - The Bee's Knees - Day 1 |
Jenny was in full on rage mode tonight as she made me laugh at the Ghostlight and stayed up late with me at the fire. Kevin came along for RFT I + II but couldn't make it to III. It was nice to once again have someone willing to rage a' day e' day with me. |
I've burned a lot of interesting things here at Afterglow like a birdhouse and a sombrero. I had to keep the streak alive and I was happy that I found this rocking horse in the alley. I'm sure that he wasn't as excited as I was. But you can't blame him. |
This fire was out of control but at the same time contained. So in a way it was just like me. Maybe that's why I love fire so much. It's destructive but at the same time provides so many benefits. That explains why I'm drawn to it and cannot stay away. |
These pictures make me laugh because of a story Timmy told me once. Since this is a Rage for Timmy trip there is no better forum to bring this up even though it is a little gross. So stop reading if you don't want to be disgusted. Timmy told me that after a night of raging at the Summer Camp music festival he was so sick in the morning that it was coming out of both ends. Since they are in the middle of a giant field he was in a Porta-Potty and he was sitting on the pot and throwing up in the urinal . In the heat of summer that sounds like just about the worst thing ever but the phrase "coming out of both ends" will always make me laugh. Charlie reminded me of that. |
There were plenty of ways to Rage for Timmy tonight but we decided to do something that we haven't done since we were kids. We went up to Watersmeet in Upper Michigan NOT to go to the Casino but to see the Ghostlight. For those of you who aren't familiar with this phenomenon I'll give you the short version. A mysterious light appears down this stretch of road and legend has it that it once belonged to a man working as a switch operator who tragically died in a train wreck. Or something along those lines. You can find more online but instead I will direct you to a Podcast Jenny and I recorded for my site The Daily Burner. In the article you will find a lot of information both in text and audio form. Make sure to check that out so that our little adventure makes a little bit more sense. |
Mom and Eddie would be joining us tomorrow but today it was just me and Jenny. It's weird to have a cabin all to ourselves and it made me feel like a grown up. If the same thing happened in summer we would rage so hard until the wheels fell off. |
I laughed with reckless abandon and enjoyed this moment. I really am an asshole. But when you think about it Charlie was never alive. He was just a piece of wood. Wood is made to burn. |
It was with great sorrow that I put Charlie in this position. He didn't do anything to deserve this. But let this be a lesson that we are not in control of our lives. The Gods determine our fate. |
We got back to Afterglow around 10:30pm, which was cutting it close to have a raging fire. There was plenty of wood to burn but we decided to offer up Charlie Horse as a sacrifice to the Rage Gods. He wasn't keen on the idea but he wasn't given a choice. |
Fire is great especially on a cold, dark night. But it just wasn't enough. No amount of wood could summon up the hellfires that we needed to stay warm. The Rage Gods were calling for Charlie and we had no choice but to adhere to their demonic wishes. |
Charlie was a good friend to me but I wish that he would have spoken up more often instead of being a little horse. He always said that he couldn't help it because he was born that way. I have only known him since I found him in my Mom's alley and I cannot vouch for that. It's too bad because he really needed me to be on his side right about now. I was not a good friend to him. A friend would never try to bite you and then throw you into the fire. A friend would not sacrifice you to the Rage Gods. A friend would have saved your life. |
