World Series of Beer Pong 2 - Day 1

Katie and Denise surprised  a lot of people out there, but they didn't really surprise us., I mean that in a good way. There reason t hat we weren't surprised is that we knew going into this competition that they were among the best players in Milwaukee and CHBPL (and I'm serious about that, try and find someone else who can go cup-for-cup with Denise, she f-ing rocks). We were a little unsure about how they would stack up against the rest of the country, but they showed everyone that they could hang with the big boys.

Some company/website was taking pictures of WSoBP participants, so we decided to do a team shot. This blurry picture is the only one that I have of all 8 of us. I wish I knew what company took these pictures, as I would very much like to purchase a copy of this picture. I can't find who took the picture, so I guess I have to settle with this one. Maybe someday I'll have a better version, but I won't hold my breath.

Hummel and I dominated the competition on Day 1, going 5-1, with our only loss being determined by a mere 1 cup. Our play earned us a little bit of a reputation (a lot of it had been carried over from last year) and caused people to focus on us. Film 101, a movie company based in Los Angeles, was producing a documentary about the growing fascination with beer pong. They had come to Milwaukee to talk with us, and attended one of our league nights. While in town, they sat down with me and did a lengthy interview where I spoke about beer pong, my history with the game, my life and my love for the Brewers. They came out to Mesquite to film during the WSoBP, and spent some more time interviewing me. I tried to get the other Milwaukee people involved, but the crew only anted to talk to me. To this day, I still don't know what I told these guys, I guess I'll just have to wait until this documentary comes out to hear my valuable insights on the game of beer pong.

After the games were over, everyone pretty much called it a day. The games went from 11:00 am until nearly 7:00 pm, which is a lot of excitement for older people like me. At this time of the night, I was left by myself; I couldn't find any of my friends. I walked around to see if anyone was playing beer pong in the rooms, but all was quiet. With nothing to do. I went to bed, and that was how Day 1 ended.
