World Series of Beer Pong 2 - Playoffs |
We wanted to meet Ian and Matt when we found out that they were brothers from Janesville, WI. They turned out to be real cool (just like everyone from Wisconsin) and we cheered them on the whole way. They ended up doing well, and eventually placed 17th overall. |
Balkman has a real intensity surging out of him when he plays beer pong. It's something that he cannot control and only comes out of him in the heat of the moment. I always look forward to seeing what kind of tricks Balkman pulls out of his bag when the game is on the line. |
Sometimes it's hard to believe that Balkman is actually a human being and not just an animated cartoon character. I wish I knew who to thank for his abnormal behavior. I have met both of his parents, and they both seem normal, so I can only blame society and alcohol. |
The Film 101 crew gave us some wireless mics to wear for this playoff game. I felt a little added pressure because they were getting footage for their upcoming beer pong documentary (due out Fall 2007). I don't know why I was nervous to be on camera - they've sat down with me multiple times since September 2006 and they have plenty of footage of me. It may have been because this was a high pressure game and I knew that I would be scrutinized and judged on every shot. With this kind of attention on my team, I knew that we must win this game or risk letting out fans down. |
Balkman and Brodey were playing on the table right next to us, so we got a firsthand view of their game. I tired to watch what they were doing, but I still had to concentrate on our game. Once again, we won and finished before they did, so I was able to sit and watch the thrilling conclusion to their game. I have a few videos from their game on the next page, so make sure you check those out. |
Our next game would pit us against a friendly team that I did not want to play against - Front Cup from Wisconsin + Minnesota. We had befriended them during the last few days and hated for it to come down to this. We all agreed to have fun and realized that it was a double elimination tourney, so a loss would simple put us to the losers bracket and not end our play at the 2007 WSoBP. |
