Afterglow 2009 - Day 2 Sunday |
When most people go on vacation, they take time off of their jobs to kick back and relax. But when your job is a songwriter / musician / rockstar, vacation is the perfect time to come up with new lyrics and songs. The relaxing atmosphere of Afterglow really helps to get the creative ideas churning flowing in the brain. |
Now that everyone was awake and (some of us) liquored up, we could go swimming out in the big pool. Swimming is without a doubt the greatest thing to do up here, which is why we take advantage of every opportunity that the weather gives us to enjoy that shit. |
James and Melissa had just arrived (they were at the Brewers game yesterday, which was James' 1st of the year considering that he now lives in South Carolina) and they immediately put on their suits and joined us on the upstairs of the raft. It doesn't take a genius to figure out where the party is at Afterglow - it's wherever we are. If it's daytime then it is the upstairs of the raft. If it is nighttime then it is the KK. Just don't tell any of the little kids cause the last thing we need is a bunch of juveniles farting around and cramping our style. |
I want to tell you about my new boys The Wonders! Top 10 and fastest ever teen sensations! Now if you need me I'll be at Chasen's with Suzanne Pleshette... That's what I think about when I see this picture. How can you look at these kids and not laugh out loud? |
The weather dictates what we do up here, so place all your money on water activities if it is halfway decent out. Screw red or black Brian - you'll only lose making foolhardy bets like that. Stacy, Jenny and Kevin did a little sober kayaking while I watched from the beach. Those kids sure look like they are having tons of fun. |
One of our favorite things to do is to swim out to the high dive, climb the ladder, then sit up there for hours. To the common person, it must sound like the dumbest thing in the world. But to the keepers of the pact, there's nothing greater. It's what we do. |
I ate a Johnny Bowl of Spaghettios breakfast/lunch, then rejoiced cause Timmy just rolled into town. And just like that I had a pal who would join me in drinking a cold and refreshing PBR. And now Mom couldn't judge me cause I wasn't drinking alone. That's why it's great to always have a designated drinking buddy present every time you crack open a beer or hit the hard stuff - strength in numbers. We're unstoppable now. |
It was a Sunday, and therefor the Brewers had a day game. I don't have the numbers, but in 2009, the Brewers had an atrocious record in day games (it was those damn shadows). The Brewers dropped a heartbreaker 10-2, which accounts for Brian's sadness here. |
The cannonball isn't just a splashing maneuver, it's a way of life. Just ask Ron Burgundy or Hamilton "Ham" Porter (the fat kid in the Sandlot). We all know that there is a right time and place for the cannonball to make an appearance. For me that time was now. |
I have a lot of class. Nah, not really. But I do have a lot of attitude. I should almost be wearing one of those 1980's t-shirts that have cartoon bubble letters saying "bad to the bone." That or the fact that I've been drinking is the only reason I gave Stacy the finger. |
