When we were kids, we often went over to my Grandma and Grandpa's house. We used to sleep over a lot, and when our parents would come pick us up in the morning, Grandma would lean out the door and wave goodbye. James and Melissa were leaving this morning to head back home, so Jenny played Grandma and waved goodbye. And it was almost like I remembered it from childhood.

James and Melissa had to go back and hang out with Melissa's family and friends and take care of a whole bunch of things including wedding preparation. I didn't expect them to stay up here the whole week anyway. It's a lot to ask someone to take time off of work to come up here, but then a whole lot more to ask them to travel across the country and pay for expensive plane tickets and such. I'll always make the monetary and time sacrifice for Afterglow, but that's me. I'm so glad that James and Melissa came all the way from South Carolina, and I hope they continue to come up here year after year. I always enjoy hanging out with them, and we have a lot of fun together. TAX!!!

I took a stroll along the lake by our dock, which is one of my favorite places to hang out at Afterglow. I can't count how many hours I've spent down there thinking, playing guitar, singing to myself and throwing tiny water dynamites in the water and blowing up fish. Throughout the years it has become a place of solace amongst all of the noise and distraction in this crazy world. In fact that's kind of what Afterglow is. A perfect oasis tucked away from the rest of the world where you can center your mind and be at peace. We're lucky to be able to go there.

Kevin came over to eat breakfast, but like the true gentleman that he is, he refrained from digging through our icebox and cupboards; he brought his own. It looks like his pancakes have chocolate chips or blueberries in them. I don't see any syrup on his pancakes though. Ramathorn and Rabbit must have chugged it all. When they get that syrup in 'em, they get all antsy in their pantsy.

Today looked to be a shitty day, which I guess was fitting considering every other day up here has been shitty thus far. Not so much as in content or activities, but mainly because of the weather. The cold air and lack of sun meant that we wouldn't be doing a whole lot of swimming today. We'd still do our required amount as dictated by the pact the we signed, but I doubt we'd be doing much more. Unless today got better.
