Something must have happened between that picture and this one, because now Kevin is sitting on the bench that is physically the furthest away from where his Mom is sitting. Whatever it was, it must have caught him by surprise. But Stacy saw it coming.

A lively bunch always shows up to the campfire when they know that the Afterglow musicians will be playing a live show. James had to introduce Melissa to this tradition, because he knew that she would be better off after witnessing musical perfection. And for free no less! Can't really ask for more than that on a Tuesday.

Now that the campfire was burning nice and bright, everyone was enjoying the night. I know that on some of the nights I recorded our songs and threw them on my iPod. If anyone ever cares to have the recordings of the Uncle Greg Band, let me know. I'll get them you. Trust me, I've got time. If you don't want them then I feel bad for you, because listening to them will give you powers to do good in the community. What was that? You don't want to do good in the community? You selfish asshole. Pay it forward man. It's karma. Oh well, your loss.

Jenny Reck has these premonitions that she is qualified to be keeper of the fire. They come to her when she sleeps and give her what Psychiatrists will later diagnose as night terrors. These demons give her the confidence that she needs to tinker with the fire. This is not a good thing though. I really don't mean to be sexist and say that girls aren't qualified to manage a fire, it's just that other people like Uncle Rick or myself just do a better job. Fire just happens to be one of our specialties and something that we take great pride in.

I would bet $100 Angel Bucks that there is not a more musical week at Afterglow than ours. We've got 4 people who play guitar (Tim, Kris, Kevin and Jenny), the harmonica stylings of yours truly and enough voices to harmonize every part imaginable. Then you throw in the comic observations and voiceovers by Rick and Greg mixed in with the Back Alley Burners changing the words, and the result is nothing short of pure genius. I imagine that the only thing sweeter than our music is the heavenly voice of God as he sings tiny baby Jesus to sleep in the manger.

Great times are always had by all and glorious music fills the air when any combination of June's Blanket, the Uncle Greg Band and Kris Reck Choir are present at the campfire. That ensemble has a wealth of song knowledge, musical skill and vocal mastery that would make even the supergroup of artists that sang "We are the World" jealous. You never know which song or which version of that song will be played next) so the audience literally teeters on the edge of the benches in anticipation. And we're always eager to please the crowd.

Without Uncle Greg, the Revolution would have never been started. In case you are wondering, this is a good thing folks. Revolutions seem bad at first because they shake things up, but they also bring about some much needed change. Stacy knows that here Dad is a visionary, so she snuggled up close to him.

Kevin probably won't admit this in public, but he loves his mommy Carol. I mean, how could he not? I know me and Carol have had our differences, but I can see it. She's just a sweet lady trying to protect her baby from people like me. And she rightfully should.
